Vedanthangal Bird
Sanctuary is located 80kms from Chennai. From Chennai you have to take National
Highway towards Chengalpet. After Chengalpet there will be a direction board to
take right and go forward for 12 kms. It ends up in Vedanthangal Sanctuary. The
sanctuary will be kept opened from November to June. We were there on the last week of November.
Kindly check the opening
date before going .Timings - 6 a.m to 6 p.m on all days. Tickets has to
purchased in the counter. Adults - Rs.10 , Child (3-12 yrs) - Rs.5, Camera
-Rs.25 and Video Camera - Rs125.
Facilities - Two elevated
watch tower and two ground level view points; Rest room and Drinking water
facilities; benches
Public transport facilities available at the entrance of the sanctuary.
On return you can taste some hot tea and bajjis in shops just opposite to the sanctuary.
Bag pack - Snacks in eco friendly packs; water, a note book and pencil, umbrella (monsoon season), camera, binocular, tripods (if available)

The below is the scenic beauty of the sanctuary. My camera had captured the visual effect but when you visit there one can enjoy the sounds of various birds and the take of and landing of flock of birds .
